governors merit scholarship winners

East Canton High School proudly announces that three exceptional students from the Class of 2025 have qualified to earn the prestigious Governor’s Merit Scholarship. This honor is awarded to students who rank within the top 5% of their graduating class as of August 1st in their senior year, demonstrating academic excellence and dedication to their studies.

The three East Canton seniors qualifying for the scholarship are:

  • Carter Menegay, son of Chris and Christine Menegay

  • Margaret Motts, daughter of Peter and Sarah Motts

  • Nevaeh Reed, daughter of Derrick and Lisa Reed

The Governor’s Merit Scholarship aims to inspire students to pursue higher education in Ohio, alleviate student debt, and support the growth of Ohio’s future workforce. This renewable scholarship offers up to $5,000 annually for four years to Ohio residents who graduate from public or chartered non-public high schools within the state.

This achievement not only celebrates the students’ hard work but also reinforces East Canton High School’s commitment to academic excellence. Congratulations to Carter, Margaret, and Nevaeh on their outstanding accomplishment and best wishes for a bright future ahead.
