East Canton High School Announces National Merit Scholar Semi Finalists
East Canton High School is thrilled to announce that four outstanding seniors have qualified as National Merit Scholar Semi Finalists. This prestigious recognition highlights their academic achievements and dedication, making them eligible to advance further in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
The students recognized as National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalists are:
Molly Betz, daughter of Amy Betz
Sarah Helms, daughter of Jason Helms and Michelle Conrad Helms
Hailey Holestine, daughter of Ryan Shankle and Rachael Holestine
Charlie Robinson, daughter of Lori Robinson
These students are part of the 1.3 million entrants who received qualifying scores on the PSAT, taken during their junior year. This is the first step in a multi-step process toward becoming a National Merit Scholar. The specific score required varies by state and testing year, making this achievement particularly impressive.
In April, these students will find out if they have advanced to the next stage as one of the 50,000 high scorers. Should they meet all the requirements, they will receive confirmation that their scores were valid and will then be eligible to apply for a Merit Scholarship. The scholarship application, which will be available during their senior year, includes several steps, such as maintaining high academic standing, receiving an endorsement from their high school principal, and submitting a personal essay.
This recognition reflects the exceptional academic talents and dedication of these students. Congratulations to Molly, Sarah, Hailey, and Charlie on this impressive achievement, and best of luck as they move forward in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
